Who We Are and What We Do
The Bronzeville Fencing Academy promotes and teaches the Olympic sport of fencing to students of all ages and skill levels. The Academy is a 501(c)(3) organization whose efforts are solely directed toward advocating on behalf of youth in underserved communities. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
As a professional athletic organization, the Academy offers affordable memberships with instruction for youth and adults of all skill levels. We also conduct and offer fencing clincs for advanced competitive fencers. Academy designated competition gear is available to all advanced competitive member fencers.
The Academy's mission to expand a uniquely defined program in academics and alternative sports disciplines begins with the sport of Fencing; through expert instruction from coaches, athletes, officials and other professionals in the sport of Fencing. The Academy stresses not only athletic excellence but most importantly, character-building tools to achieve a healthy academic and athletic legacy for the youth it serves and the community at large.

The Academy is a non-profit fencing club with all membership proceeds benefiting programs designed for the underprivileged and underserved urban youth in the Black Metropolis District - Bronzeville area.
The Academy has a wide range of programs including Youth, Adult, Wheelchair- Adaptive and Inclusive, and Clinics.
The Bronzeville Fencing Academy's in-school partnerships with local and statewide social agencies, operates after-school programming in the Chicago Public Schools.
These programs are specifically designed to motivate and support academic achievement and success in alternative sport disciplines, thus promoting a viable pathway to secondary and post-secondary education.
This promotes a pathway to secondary and post-secondary institutions both academically and athletically.
Our partnerships offer scholarships to qualified youth to receive instruction and skill development in the Olympic Sport of Fencing.
This grant of financial aid does not need to be repaid and all classes are held at our partner sites.
The primary objective of these partnerships are to make fencing an everyday life activity of young people in the Bronzeville community.
