Recreational and Competitive
The Academy offers programs for all ages and skill levels. Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and elite competitive classes are offered at our main campus.
Trial classes are subject to availability. Students are developed through individual and group lessons, tournament competitions, and camps.
The hours listed represent the total for each 10-week session.
The Academy offers a wide range of class times during the week for students enrolled in the program.
Classification levels are based on factors such as experience, maturity, and skill retention. Students advance through the program at the discretion of the Head Coach.
Enrollment in the main campus program is subject to availability.
BEGINNER - 20 Hours.
This class introduces students to fencing, focusing on foil and epee fundamentals. After 9-12 months of training and summer camp, students typically advance to the next level.
INTERMEDIATE - 35 Hours.
This class emphasizes technical skills, tactical strategies, and sportsmanship. Practice schedule covers tactics, rules, and basic refereeing fundamentals. Summer camp attendance is recommended. Students are eligible to compete in some local and regional tournaments upon coach approval.
ADVANCED - 100 Hours.
This class is intended for students who are participating in local and regional tournaments. The practice schedule includes group drills and lessons, technical tactics, bout strategies, mental preparation, and conditioning. Attendance at the pre-nationals summer camp is strongly recommended. Students should expect to dedicate a minimum of 6 to 8 hours of practice each week.

ELITE COMPETITIVE - 120 Hours.
This class is designed for students who are actively and consistently competing in regional and national tournaments. The practice schedule includes advanced individual lessons, drills, tactical exercises, strategy scenarios, mental preparation, and intensive conditioning. Attendance at the pre-nationals summer camp is mandatory. Students should expect to commit a minimum of 8 to 10 hours of practice each week.

Our public and private school programs, as well as our park district programs, offer classes tailored for various age groups and grade levels. The schedule and timing for these classes are determined in collaboration with the school administration. Each program is equipped with all necessary supplies and equipment to ensure successful implementation.
This workshop is specifically designed to help students develop the fundamental skills needed to participate at a beginner level in the Olympic sport of fencing.
Classes are conducted by experienced coaches. Students may continue in this program for recreational fencing or enroll in our main campus program.
