Head Coach:

Is responsible for the amateur and professional training and overall personal development of each student at the Academy. The Head Coach develops the Student-Athlete Performance plan for the Academy.

Assistant Coach: 

Utilizing the Student-Athlete Performance plan supervises/teaches the student-athletes at the Academy.

 

Specialty Coach(s): 

Supervises/teaches certain activities, i.e. Yoga Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Sports Psychologists.

Auset Muhammad

The Story

Auset is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and also serves as an Assistant Coach at the Academy and a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Temple University.  She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Sciences and regularly completes professional development courses.  

A Temple University graduate and highly qualified strategic thinker, Auset supervises programs and staff, maintaining high accountability to ensure quality programming.  As a former NCAA Division I athlete, she assists in developing the SEL-integrated Sport Education Model (SEM) curriculum that helps young people problem-solve and make decisions while creating a safe and inclusive environment.

COACH MUHAMMAD

HEAD COACH 

Malcolm Muhammad is the Founder and Executive Director of the Bronzeville Fencing Academy, a role that reflects his commitment to creating meaningful, sustainable impact in under-resourced communities. He established the Academy to expand access, opportunity, and equity for young people. 

COACH KYLE RILEY

The Academy’s community of stake holders are invested in creating a purpose built dynamic that fully recognizes the dormant talent and gifts of the youth in the community. We believe in creating a safe space that recognizes the learning experience of each youth thereby allowing them to  grow into the fullness of their character.
